The steel cutting ceremony on DSME hull 1218- Saga Future- took place on the 7th of November 2011. At the same time the Saga site office at DSME has been opened.
Saga Shipholding (Norway) AS (SSH), a 100% subsidiary of Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), has agreed with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd (DSME) in South Korea to build five 55.000 dwt Open Hatch Gantry Craned (OHGC) vessels. The vessels will be delivered between October 2012 and August 2013. SSH has also ordered two 55.000 dwt OHGC vessels with Oshima Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, Japan, for delivery in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
