Frequently Asked Questions

How many ships does Saga operate?

As Oct 2007 Saga has 25 open-hatch gantry craned bulk carriers between 44,000 and 49,000 dwt capacity. We also have an extensive newbuilding programme in place which have provided 7 newbuildings in the period from 2005 to 2007. Two more vessels will be delivered in 2008.

Are photos of Saga vessels available on this web-site?

Yes, you can find a variety of high quality pictures showing our modern vessels and their cargo operations under "Company" and "Picture Gallery"

Where do I turn if I am looking for shore based employment?

Any vacancy is normally posted under "News" on this web-site and in relevant journals and newspapers. However, as Saga is always looking for talented people to further strenghten its organisation, we suggest you send an application and CV to the relevant office. Contact details are to be found under "Contact"

Does Saga only carry forestry products?

No. Although forestry products (pulp, lumber and paper) account for approximately 70% of our cargo base, our vessels are also ideally suited for aluminium, clay, containers, steel, project, break-bulk and high-quality bulk cargoes like woodpellets, borates and soda ash.

Where do I apply if I am looking for a job on board one of the Saga vessels?

Saga has outsourced its crewing and technical management to Patt Manfield and Anglo Eastern in Hong Kong, so we suggest you contact them directly for employment possibilities.
